The number of trout that you can stock depends on the water flow and food available as well as the size of your pond or lake.
If you are planning on stocking a small number of trout the transport costs may be more significant than the cost of the trout.
From August 2009 all stocking of live trout requires the purchaser to be registered with CEFAS. This is a simple process that can be completed online and takes several days to complete.
